Computer & Information Literacy

Concurrent Enrollment High School students can take the CIL exams if they are currently enrolled in any USU CE course, not just a computer-related one, since they are officially USU students. They may take the test at their school if there is someone willing and able to proctor the tests. They may also take the tests at the closest USU extension site.

Any Non-CE High School student (9-12 grades) may take the CIL tests with their advisor’s permission as an official alternative to the Computer Technology class. This will also fulfill the student's University-level computer literacy requirement for all Utah schools. An advisor or teacher from the school must contact the CIL Director (Rob Barton) by phone at 435-797-7050 to make arrangements for testing. A spreadsheet of students desiring to take the tests should be filled out and emailed to the CIL Director as well as printed out and mailed with $30 per student to "Computer Technology, 0310 Old Main Hill, Logan, UT 84322-0310."
