Question

Q

What's this fee?

Answer(s)

A

For students who have been at USU for awhile, you may have been charged the $30 fee automatically your first semester. If you were not charged your first semester or if you have just recently enrolled at USU, the CIL fee will be charged to your USU account (same as tuition and other fees) when you complete the CIL exams.  If you are enrolled in a course where you will be taking some or all of the CIL exams, your instructor may request that the fee be charged for all students at the beginning of the course.

The fee is only charged once, no matter how many times or how long it takes you to pass the 6 CIL tests. The fee is the same, whether the tests are being taken as part of a class or on their own.

If you have been assessed the $30 CIL fee and are not required to take the CIL tests, and have not started taking the tests, you may fill out a Refund Application form with your advisor’s signature, and return it to the CIL lab.
